Local Interest Visits

Local Interest Visits operate on the basis that any Frome Third Age member who would like to visit anywhere of interest can propose a visit, checking that it is open on the Friday in question (the first Friday of the month) and confirming costs. Details of the next month's visit will be announced at the main monthly meeting at the Assembly Rooms, including a proposed meeting time for the visit.  Any Frome Third Age members can go.  We will also always put the details of the next visit on the website here so please keep your first Friday of the month free and check back here regularly.

Our next visit will be on Friday November 6th when we propose to go to Number 1, Royal Crescent, Bath, meeting at the entrance at 11am.  Admission £16.  Link to their website HERE.

After that, at around 12.30pm we will go to Boston Tea Party in Alfred Street, BA1 2QU (see their website HERE) for some lunch and then move on to visit the Jane Austen Centre at the 1.50pm entrance slot. Admission £16.30 (concession) or free if you have a Blue Peter Badge.  Link to their website HERE.  Anyone only coming to the Jane Austen Centre can meet us there for 1.50pm.

Members can go to both venues or, if preferred, choose one or the other.  A sign up sheet will be at the monthly meeting on Friday 9th October.

Our next visit is on Friday December 4th when we will go to Avebury Manor (National Trust) for the Christmas decorations display. We will meet in the Circles Cafe at around 10.30. The gardens open at 10.00 and the house opens at 11.00.  The famous and impressive Stone Circle is there too.  Links to the various attractions are; AVEBURY MANOR,  CHRISTMAS AT AVEBURY and GENERAL INFO & STONE CIRCLE.
